Train ride

Still on the train.  It has been a very peaceful journey.   The train is very crowded and unfortunately, the observation car has been consistently packed so we were unable to sit in the big open space and visit with people.  So far though, we have had a chance to get to know so new faces.  At breakfast we sat with a lady who told us she was a wicken.  A female witch.  The best part of that introduction was Ian throwing into the conversation that Holy Thursday and Good Friday were coming up.  Then she went on to tell us that she is related to two former presidents.  It was an interesting breakfast to say the least.  Good thing no one was drinking tea or she might have started to read the tea leaves.

At lunch we broke bread with a man named Jeff.  He is a commercial banker from the East Coast.  Returning home from a business trip.  Nice guy.  The conversation was mostly about the economy so I'm sure that Ian found it extremely boring.  We did talk a bit about baseball, so he was able to add to the conversation.

Our dinner mates were a couple from Mt. Prospect.  Yeah, you know they always say you have to go half way around the world to meet your neighbor.  The man was a musician and Ian and him talked a lot about music.  It was a wonderful dinner.

We arrived into Boston an hour earlier than scheduled.  Got to the hotel, unpacked.  Ian and I quickly made our way to Quincy market for some Chowdur.  It was so good.  Topped it off with some gelato.
Came back to the hotel, wrote on the blog for a bit and then went to bed.  As much as I like riding the train, nothing compares to sleeping in a big bed.
