5 x 1000 Time of Run: 5:00 a.m.
Up at 4:15 am for my first indoor track workout. Hard to get up when its so dark but it was worth it. Did 5 reps of 5 laps under a minute for each lap with a 2:30 rest.

*** Indoor track workouts are run by Kurt Fiene. Kurt does an unbelievable job of putting together the workouts for the winter session. The runners that participate are from the ELmhurst Running Club. These runners are super fast. Unfortunately, I am not in the fast group. In fact, I'm in the last one for these workouts. But, seeing how hard they work and how smooth they run, makes me work twice as hard. They are great group of people and running with them has only made me better. I am truly grateful to have the opportunity to run with such gifted athletes.
Celebrated my first track workout by heading to the pool for a 44 lap (1 mile 8 laps) swim.
