Woke up in Ohio and headed down to breakfast. Had a hard time sleeping. Too much is still going through my head from the race. Tried to sleep with my headphones but that didn't wok too well. All I have going through my head now is how can I get better for the next race. Need to be stronger and faster. Need some more hill work and some aqua running. Should also run some more on the streets instead of just path. Now that I saw what is possible I want to take it to the next level. I would love a 3:30 Boston time. Like Charlie says, "How bad do you want it". Arrived into Union Station at 11:02. Gathered up our stuff and headed to Ogilvie to get home to Elmhurst. This experience was so different from last year. This time I was so driveto do well. I feel that I trained harder, knew the course better and was more determined to do well because of the new time requirements for Boston. I pray that I will be able to run it next year. Time will tell. All I know is that I ran my heart out this year. The marathon was a true testament to the phrase, "Hard work pays off". So much of the victory belongs to my dear husband John who without him this might not have been possible. His sacrifice and support of my love of running was key to my success. He means the world to me and I love him more and more each day. Made it back in to Elmhurst in time for lunch. Unpacked and headed to the office to start some work.
